The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of GBA Lions (10-1) in Jindrichuv Hradec on Friday night. Hosts were rolled over by Sokol Pisek (10-1) 93-72. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of GBA Lions. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Sokol Pisek dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to GBA Lions’ 36. They outrebounded GBA Lions 51-35 including a 24-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Vojtech Sykora (189-2001) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points, 17 rebounds and 9 assists and center Martin Svoboda (202-2001) who added 23 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Sokol Pisek’s coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Stepan Borovka (193-2000) with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Sokol Pisek have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Important game to mention about took place in Novy Jicin. Second ranked Novy Jicin (8-2) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 6th ranked Olomouc Bbal (5-6) 79-78 on Friday evening. The winners were led by forward Matej Snopek (195-2000) who scored that evening 27 points and 8 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and Zdenek Jakubu supported him with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Even 32 points by point guard Tomas Tkadlec (190-1999) did not help to save the game for Olomouc Bbal. Novy Jicin maintains second position with 8-2 record having just three points less than leader Svitavy. Olomouc Bbal at the other side keeps the sixth place with six games lost. SP Basket recorded a loss to USK Praha B on the road 81-67. Chomutov was crushed by Polabi on its own court 87-107. Brno 2 lost to undefeated Svitavy in a road game 72-80. Winless Vysocina was destroyed by Zlin at home 69-93. Litomerice managed to outperform Sojky P. on the opponent’s court 74-64.

Rather expected game when 7th ranked Liberec (3-8) was crushed on the road by fifth ranked Litomerice (6-5) 78-56 on Friday. Litomerice well out of reach of Liberec shooting 71.1 percent from the field. It was a great shooting night for Litomerice especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 71.4 percentage. The best player for the winners was point guard Michal Sotnar (187-1992) who scored 18 points. Swingman Jan Karlovsky (201-1999) chipped in 15 points.
