American Cornelius Hudson (200-F-1993) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league’s leader Beroe and that’s him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 29-year old forward had the game-high 18 points adding nine rebounds and six assists for Beroe in his team’s victory, helping them to outclass Milenijum (#6, 1-3) with 32-point margin 95-63. It allowed Beroe to jump to the first place in the Balkan League. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. But it’s just the very beginning of the season and Beroe won both games without losing any. It’s too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team’s last game Hudson had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range. He turned to be Beroe’s top player in his first season with the team. Wake Forest University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Hudson is in league’s top in points (5th best: 17.5ppg), assists (4th best: 6.0apg) and averages solid 3.5spg and 50.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was young American guard Curtis Jones (195-G-1997, agency: Mansfield and Associates) of Bashkimi. Jones impressed basketball fans with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Bad luck as Bashkimi was edged by Peja (2-0) 76-72. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let’s wait for the next round. Jones is a newcomer at Bashkimi and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team’s leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.0ppg (#3). He also recorded 4.0 assists per game.

The third best performed player last round was Jamaican Ryan Wright (205-C/F-1987, agency: BIG) of Levski (#5). Wright scored 19 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Levski, leading his team to a 82-72 win against Milenijum (#6, 1-3). The chances of Levski not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victory. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Wright could try to bring Levski’s a little bit higher in the standings. Wright has a very solid season. In 3 games in Balkan League he scored 8.0ppg.
