American Forward Charlie Daniels (206-F) had a great game in the last round for New Bayazet, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
The player had a double-double of 15 points and 13 rebounds, while his team crushed Mad Foxes (#4, 3-3) with 24-point margin 103-79. Thanks to this victory New Bayazet moved-up to the 5th position in Caucasus Basketball League. New Bayazet is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-3 record. Daniels turned to be New Bayazet’s top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Minnesota star has very solid stats this year. Daniels is in league’s top in rebounds (3rd best: 9.0rpg) and averages impressive 1.4bpg and 63.0% FGP.
The second best player in last round’s games was young American Jamal McCoy (196-SG-1993) of Supersonics. McCoy had a very good evening with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as Supersonics lost that game 88-100 to the higher-ranked Cilicia (#6, 2-4). Supersonics are still at the very bottom. 5 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. McCoy is a newcomer at Supersonics, but is already one of team’s top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.6ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 7.6rpg and 3.8apg. Former Bluefield State College star McCoy is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.
Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Jamal Poplar (204-F/C-1996) of Cilicia (#6). Poplar scored 23 points and grabbed six rebounds. He was a key player of Cilicia, leading his team to a 100-88 win against Supersonics (#9, 0-5). The chances of Cilicia not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 4 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Poplar could try to bring Cilicia’s a little bit higher in the standings. Poplar has individually a great season in Caucasus Basketball League. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in rebounds with 10.0rpg (#1 in league). Poplar attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
