They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Pruszkow and Energa W-wa. AMW Gdynia lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the thirteenth place with eight games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Tarnovia is looking forward to face league’s leader LKS Lodz at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. AMW Gdynia will play against Trefl 2 (#10) in Sopot and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Katowice. Leader Mickiewicz faced 4th placed Resovia. Host Mickiewicz (10-0) smashed guests from Rzeszow (6-4) 87-59. It was a good game for point guard Sebastian Wojciechowski (185-1998) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Jakub Strozczyk contributed with 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. point guard Wojciech Szpyrka (178-1998) answered with 15 points and 7 rebounds for Resovia. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Mickiewicz. They maintain first place with 10-0 record, which they share with Miedzychod and Katowice KS 27. Newly promoted Resovia dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Mickiewicz will play against Iskra Cz (#8) in Czestochowa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Resovia will play at home against Cracovia and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Miedzychod. Leader Miedzychod faced 3rd placed Prudnik. Host Miedzychod (10-0) defeated guests from Prudnik (8-2) 96-83. Mikolaj Smarzy stepped up with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. The best for the losing side was Stanferd Sanny with 22 points and 6 steals. Prudnik’s coach Tomasz Michalak tested ten players, but that didn’t help to avoid defeat in this game. The victory was the tenth consecutive win for Miedzychod. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with AZS AWF Mick. and Katowice KS 27. Prudnik at the other side keeps the third place with two games lost. Stal Ostrow 2 was beaten by Katy Wroc. in a home game 61-72. Koscian won against Gorzow on the road 73-72. Gimbasket was outscored by Siechnice on its own court 56-103. Katowice KS 27 rolled over WKK 2 in a road game 75-54. Klodzko was defeated by SKM ZG at home 89-96. Zary beat Olesnica on the opponent’s court 96-88. Sudety won against Slask 3 in a home game 68-67. AGH 2 managed to outperform Cracovia on the road 79-73.

Ogniwo Szcz. – Gdynia GAK 76-74

There was no surprise in Szczecin where 15th ranked Gdynia GAK (1-9) was edged by twelfth ranked Ogniwo Szcz. (2-7) 76-74 on Thursday. Ogniwo Szcz. outrebounded Gdynia GAK 46-33 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Karol Pytys (202-1985) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and guard Michal Huk (188-2001) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists. There was no surprise in Wroclaw where 13th ranked WKK 2 (2-8) was crushed by leader Katowice KS 27 (10-0) 75-54 on Saturday. Katowice KS 27 dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to WKK 2’s 34. Katowice KS 27 forced 19 WKK 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 25 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Center Maksymilian Duda (215-2004) stepped up and scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners and guard Dawid Grochowski (190-1989) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Aleksy Walczak (194-2005) with 16 points and Kamil Kubiak (200-2004) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sudety made 7 blocks. Bartosz Jyz (198-1997) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners and power forward Pawel Minciel (203-1988) chipped in 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Sudety’s coach Jaroslaw Wilusz used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was guard Borys Baran (185-2006) with 28 points and forward Mateusz Glodek (198-2003) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field).
