24-year old power forward Stephane Gombauld (205-PF-97, agency: Slash Sports) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Nancy and receives a Hoops Agents ProB Player of the Week award for round 13.
He had the game-high 27 points adding five rebounds for Nancy in his team’s victory, helping them to outclass Blois (#11, 6-7) with 26-point margin 85-59. Nancy is placed at 2nd position in French ProB. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Nancy will need more victories to improve their 9-4 record. Gombauld turned to be Nancy’s top player in his first season with the team. Gombauld has impressive league stats. He is in league’s top in points (2nd best: 19.1ppg) and averages solid 1.2bpg and 65.5% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was Djordje Milosevic (199-SG-93, agency: PEPI SPORT) of Evreux. He is Serbian guard in his first season at Evreux. In the last game Milosevic recorded impressive 23 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. It was enough for Evreux to edge the lower-ranked St-Quentin (#17, 4-8) by 5 points 73-68. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Evreux managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 14th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 5-8 record. Milosevic is a newcomer at Evreux and quickly became one of team’s most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.2ppg (#8). His other stats are also decent: 5.5rpg and 4.2apg.
Third place about best performers goes to another Evreux’s star – forward Julius Kazakauskas (196-F-90). Kazakauskas showcased his all-around game by recording 10 points, nine rebounds and five assists in the last round. He was another key player of Evreux, helping his team with a 73-68 win against the lower-ranked St-Quentin (#17, 4-8). The chances of Evreux not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 8 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Kazakauskas could try to bring Evreux’s a little bit higher in the standings. Kazakauskas has a very solid season. In 13 games in France he scored 6.6ppg. He also has 6.4rpg and FGP: 51.3%.
