Marek Welsch
BK-Redstone-Olomoucko-Prostejov (NBL) added to their roster 23-year old point guard Marek Welsch (180cm-82kg-1999, college: JSU). Welsch already started the season at GBA Lions (1Liga). In 5 games he recorded 14.6ppg, 2.0rpg, 4.4apg and 2.6spg. The last season he played also at GBA Lions Jindrichuv Hradec (previous name GBA Lions) where in 32 Czech Republic games he averaged 7.0ppg, 1.8rpg and 2.8apg.
He represented Czech Republic at the European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) U20 Division B in Matosinhos (Portugal) three years ago. Welsch’s team won Silver and his stats at that event were 7 games: 11.6ppg, 4.4rpg, Assists-2 (6.3apg), Steals-5 (2.4spg), FGP: 40.0%, 3PT: 36.0%, FT: 69.2%.
Welsch has played previously for Svitavy.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team was regular season runner-up in Czech Republic League in 2019. He was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Czech Republic 1Liga Honorable Mention back in 2018.
Welsch graduated from Jacksonville State University in 2021 and it is his second season as a professional player.
