There were only 2 rounds played so far and it’s still very beginning of the Regular Season in JLS. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Zitko Basket in Beograd on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by Mega SM 89-68. Mega SM dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Zitko Basket’s 36. They outrebounded Zitko Basket 56-28 including a 40-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mega SM looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Zitko Basket’s players. 27 personal fouls committed by Zitko Basket helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Bogoljub Markovic (204-2005) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Abdramane Siby (-2006) contributed with 20 points and 13 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Igor Jokic (-2002) replied with 16 points and 9 rebounds for Zitko Basket. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Mega SM is looking forward to face Crvena Zvezda in Beograd in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Zitko Basket will play on the road against Joker S. in Sombor and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
Another interesting game for Borac Cacak which played in Kragujevac against Radnicki KG. Borac Cacak crushed hosts 93-67. Pavle Nikolic (-2005) scored 20 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Djordje Curcic-M chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Predrag Panisic (-2004) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Borac Cacak will play against Spartak in Subotica in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Radnicki KG will play on the road against Partizan BG in Beograd and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Beograd: Crvena Zvezda and Dynamic BG. Crvena Zvezda smashed visiting Dynamic BG by 20 points 97-77. Petar Avlijas notched 22 points and 4 assists to lead the effort. Even 20 points, 6 assists and 4 steals by Aleksa Ristic did not help to save the game for Dynamic BG. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Crvena Zvezda will meet Mega SM in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Dynamic BG will play against Sloboda U. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 2: Partizan BG beat Sloboda U. on the road 70-60. Spartak destroyed Konstantin Nis on its own court 104-71. Joker S. unfortunately lost to Vojvodina NS in Novi Sad 80-93.
The most impressive performance of 2nd round was 23 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks by Vasilije Erceg of Vojvodina NS.

Zitko Basket – Mega SM 68-89

Crvena Zvezda – Dynamic BG 97-77

Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Beograd: Crvena Zvezda and Dynamic BG. Crvena Zvezda smashed visiting Dynamic BG by 20 points 97-77. Crvena Zvezda forced 22 Dynamic BG turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Dynamic BG’s players. The former international Petar Avlijas (196-2005) notched 22 points and 4 assists to lead the effort and center Lazar Gacic (210-2005) supported him with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Five Crvena Zvezda players scored in double figures. Even 20 points, 6 assists and 4 steals by swingman Aleksa Ristic (192-2005) did not help to save the game for Dynamic BG. Swingman Vukasin Bubanja (192-2005) added 16 points for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Crvena Zvezda will meet Mega SM in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Dynamic BG will play against Sloboda U. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

But Sloboda U. was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Beograd 70-60 on Tuesday night. Guard Savo Drezgic (187-2006) notched 15 points and 6 assists to lead the effort and power forward Stefan Plisnic (207-2006) supported him with 11 points and 8 rebounds. Even 15 points and 9 rebounds by center Pavle Backo (208-2007) did not help to save the game for Sloboda U.. Slobodan Mitrovic (-2005) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Partizan BG will meet at home Radnicki KG in the next round. Sloboda U. will play against Dynamic BG in Beograd and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Another interesting game for Borac Cacak which played in Kragujevac against Radnicki KG. Borac Cacak crushed hosts 93-67. They outrebounded Radnicki KG 42-26 including a 38-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Borac Cacak players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Pavle Nikolic (-2005) scored 20 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Djordje Curcic-M (194-2005) chipped in 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Borac Cacak players scored in double figures. Predrag Panisic (-2004) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and Vuk Zivanovic (-2004) scored 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
