28-year old swingman Espen Fjaerestad (193-G/F-1994) had an amazing evening in the last round for league’s best team Gimle and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
He had the game-high 46 points adding four rebounds and two assists for Gimle in his team’s victory, helping them to crush Nidaros Jets (#10, 2-9) with 25-point margin 117-92. It allowed Gimle to consolidate first place in the Norwegian league. Gimle has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 10-1. In the team’s last game Fjaerestad had a remarkable twelve three-pointers out of 20 attempts. He has many years of experience at Gimle, through which he has constantly improved. Espen Fjaerestad averages this season 16.5ppg.

Second best performed player last round was Cole Long (201-C) of Tromso. He is Canadian center in his first season at Tromso. In the last game Long recorded impressive 40 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course Tromso cruised to a 98-89 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Froya Basket (#6, 4-4). This victory allowed Tromso to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 5-4 record is not bad and everything may still change. Long is a newcomer at Tromso and quickly became one of team’s most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.8ppg (#7). His other stats are also decent: 10.3rpg and 3.8apg.

Third place about best performers goes to center Jacob Tryon (211-C-1998) of Oppsal (#9). Tryon got into 30-points club by scoring 35 points in the last round. He went also for thirteen rebounds . Despite Tryon’s great performance Oppsal lost 73-84 to slightly higher-ranked Ammerud Bskt (#8, 3-5). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Tryon has individually a great season in Norway. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in rebounds with 10.5rpg (6th best). He also has 3.0bpg, FGP: 54.0% and 3PT: 46.2%.

9. Johannes Lange (182-PG-1998) of Tromso – 24 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists
10. Jorgen Odfjell (197-G-2000) of Gimle – 19 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists
