28-year old guard Malique Trent (189-G-1994, agency: BIG) had an amazing evening in the last round for Univ.Surgut and receives a Hoops Agents Superleague 1 Player of the Week award for round 6.
He had the game-high 26 points adding four rebounds and eight assists for Univ.Surgut in his team’s victory, helping them to beat Tambov (#13, 1-5) 97-86. Univ.Surgut is placed at 6th position in Russian Superleague 1. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Univ.Surgut will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. In the team’s last game Trent had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Univ.Surgut’s top player in his first season with the team. Hampton University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Trent is in league’s top in points (6th best: 17.0ppg), assists (6th best: 5.5apg) and averages solid 52.8% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Alimdzhan Fedyushin (209-C/F-1989, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) of Barnaul. He is international in his first season at Barnaul. In the last game Fedyushin recorded impressive 24 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Barnaul lost that game 76-90 to slightly higher-ranked Kupol-Rodniki (#10, 2-4). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Barnaul dropped in the standings to 11th position. 4 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Barnaul managed to get this year. Fedyushin is a newcomer at Barnaul and quickly became one of team’s most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.0ppg (#2). He also registered 6.7 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Daniil Karvanen (200-F-1998) of Kupol-Rodniki (#10). Karvanen scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds. He was a key player of Kupol-Rodniki, leading his team to a 90-76 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Barnaul (#11, 1-4). The chances of Kupol-Rodniki not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 4 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Karvanen could try to bring Kupol-Rodniki’s a little bit higher in the standings. Karvanen has a very solid season. In 6 games in Russia he scored 10.5ppg.
