Dimitris Geromichalos
Point guard Dimitris Geromichalos (185-PG-1994) had a great game in the last round for Megaridas, receiving a Hoops Agents A2 Player of the Week award for round 4.
The 28-year old player was the main contributor (37 points, six rebounds and three assists) to his team’s victory, helping them to edge out Koroivos (#13, 1-3) 91-88. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Megaridas is placed at 10th position in Greek A2. Megaridas is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. In the team’s last game Geromichalos had a remarkable 73.3% from 2-point range. It’s his second year at Megaridas and it’s hard to imagine this team without him. Dimitris Geromichalos has solid league stats. He is in league’s top in points (3rd best: 22.0ppg) and averages impressive 62.2% FGP and 45.5% from behind 3-point line.
The second best player in last round’s games was young Michalis Kamperidis (206-F/C-1994, agency: Octagon Europe) of league’s leader AO Triton. Kamperidis had a very good evening with 23 points and 7 rebounds. Of course AO Triton cruised to a 85-74 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Agriniou (#11, 2-2). Of course AO Triton still keep the league’s top spot. A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 4 games without any defeat. Kamperidis is a newcomer at AO Triton, but is already one of team’s top players.
Third on the list of top players last round was guard Alexis Kyritsis (198-G-1982) of Ermis S. (#9). Kyritsis scored 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Despite Kyritsis’ great performance Ermis S. lost 70-78 to the higher-ranked Iraklis (#6, 3-1). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Kyritsis has a great season in Greece. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 21.5ppg (4th best).

7. Stavros Toutziarakis (210-C-1987) of Eleftheroupoli – 17 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Orfeas Stasinos (183-PG-1988) of Maroussi – 22 points, 4 rebounds and 7 assists
9. Tyus Jefferson (185-PG-1997) of Aias Evosmou – 23 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Manolis Matalliotakis (202-F/C-1994) of Panerythraikos – 20 points and 4 rebounds
The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
