36-year old center Karol Pytys (202-C-85) had an amazing evening in the last round for Ogniwo Szcz. and receives a Hoops Agents 2Liga Player of the Week award for round 16.
He had a double-double of 33 points and 19 rebounds, while his team crushed AZS UMK (5-10) with 23-point margin 85-62. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings in Group A. Ogniwo Szcz. is placed at 10th position in Polish 2Liga. Ogniwo Szcz. is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-10 record. Pytys has many years of experience at Ogniwo Szcz., through which he has constantly improved. Pytys has impressive league stats. He leads league in rebounds with 13.5rpg. Pytys is in league’s top in and averages solid 1.5bpg and 60.7% FGP.
Second best performed player last round was Rafal Malitka (205-F/C-91) of Nysa. He is a forward in his 3rd season at Nysa. In the last game Malitka recorded impressive double-double of 35 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Nysa was edged by the lower-ranked Koscian (#12, 5-10) 86-83. Nysa managed to keep the same 7th spot in Group D. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 6-8 record. Malitka is one of the most experienced players at Nysa and has a reputation of one of team’s most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to another Ogniwo Szcz.’s star – guard Karol Nowacki (194-G-91). Nowacki showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, twenty rebounds (!!!) and eight assists in the last round. He was another key player of Ogniwo Szcz., helping his team with a 85-62 easy win against AZS UMK (5-10). The chances of Ogniwo Szcz. not to end season at such low position in Group A, however are less than slim as they have already lost 10 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Nowacki could try to bring Ogniwo Szcz.’s a little bit higher in the standings. Nowacki has individually a great season in Poland. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in rebounds with 11.2rpg (6th best) and assists with 6.6apg (9th best).

The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
