American Forward Nana Opoku (206-F-1999) had a very impressive game in the last round for Spartak, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 23-year old player was the main contributor (24 points, six rebounds and two assists) to his team’s victory, helping them to beat Mladost ZE (#14, 1-4) 113-99. Spartak is placed at 4th position in Serbian KLS. They are still close to the very top. Spartak would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 4-1 record. In the team’s last game Opoku had a remarkable 78.6% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Nana Opoku averages this season 11.2ppg.

The second best player in last round’s games was young American Terry Armstrong (198-G-2000, agency: Interperformances) of Mladost ZE. Armstrong had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Mladost ZE lost that game 99-113 to the higher-ranked Spartak (#4, 4-1). This loss caused Mladost ZE to drop to 14th position in the standings. 4 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Mladost ZE managed to get this year. Armstrong is a newcomer at Mladost ZE, but is already one of team’s top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.0ppg (#7). He also registered 5.2 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Spartak’s star – swingman Filip Barna (201-F/G-1999). Barna showcased his all-around game by recording 17 points, five rebounds and nine assists in the last round. He was another key player of Spartak, helping his team with a 113-99 easy win against the lower-ranked Mladost ZE (#14, 1-4). Barna has a great season in Serbia. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 16.6ppg (9th best) and assists with 5.8apg (3rd best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
