ProB newcomer Union Tours Metropole Basket inked 26-year old American (has also Dominican Rep. passport) 193cm guard Marques Townes (college: Loyola, IL), agency: Slash Sports. Townes started the season at P.Zvaigzdes in Lithuanian LKL league. In 7 games he averaged 11.4ppg, 3.1rpg, 3.0apg and 1.1spg. The last season he played at Kalev/Cramo in Estonian EstLatBL where in 7 games he had 6.6ppg, 2.0rpg and 2.4apg. He also played 7 games in VTB United League where he recorded 5.9ppg, 2.1rpg, 2.1apg and 1.0spg. The other team he played that season for was Universidad Catolica de Murcia CB in Spanish Liga Endesa. But in 18 games he got just 1.8ppg.
Townes represented USA at the Panamerican Games in Lima (Peru) three years ago. Townes’ team got to the Semifinals and his stats at that event were 5 games: 1.6ppg, 1.4rpg, 1.0apg.
He graduated from Loyola University of Chicago in 2019 and it is his third season in pro basketball.
