American Forward Josh Alexander (202-F-2000) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Silute, receiving a Hoops Agents NKL Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 22-year old player was the main contributor (20 points, eight rebounds) to his team’s victory, helping them to crush, the league’s bottom-ranked team Mazeikiai (#11, 0-1) with 20-point margin 91-71. Silute is placed at 2nd position in Lithuanian NKL. But it’s just the very beginning of the season and Silute won just one (their first) game. It’s too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Alexander turned to be Silute’s top player in his first season with the team. Former The American University star has very solid stats this year. Alexander is in league’s top in points (5th best: 20.0ppg), rebounds (9th best: 8.0rpg) and averages impressive 58.3% FGP.

The second best player in last round’s games was young Aurelijus Pukelis (205-PF-1994) of Suduva-Mantinga. Pukelis had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds. Of course Suduva-Mantinga cruised to a 74-64 relatively comfortable win over LSU-Atletas (0-1). His team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Pukelis is a newcomer at Suduva-Mantinga, but is already one of team’s top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.0ppg (#3). He also registered 11.0 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was Deividas Rasys (197-SF-1997) of Telsiai (#5). Rasys scored 24 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was a key player of Telsiai, leading his team to a 102-66 easy win against Rytas 2 (#13, 0-1). Telsiai has a very good start of the season. But there was just one game played, so it’s too early to judge them at this stage. Rasys also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. The season just started for Rasys as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team’s leader.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
