The Regular Season in Basketligan just started. Host teams show no mercy winning all games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Koping Stars on the court of BC Lulea on Friday night. Visitors were defeated by BC Lulea 85-79. They made 28-of-36 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. 30 personal fouls committed by Koping Stars helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Jonatan Arvidsson (184-1998, college: E.Wyoming) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 6 rebounds. point guard Denzel George (191-2001) contributed with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American guard KeShawn Curry (195-1998, college: VCU) answered with 23 points for Koping Stars. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BC Lulea is looking forward to face Fryshuset in Stockholm in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Koping Stars will play at home against Umea and are hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
An interesting game for Boras which hosted in Boras Fryshuset. Boras had an easy win 110-63. American guard Anton Cook (189-1995, college: SE Oklahoma) stepped up and scored 26 points for the winners and Ryan Logan chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side Montenegrin center Miki Novovic (208-1992) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Boras will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Fryshuset will play at home against BC Lulea to get more than just one victory in their record.

In the last two games of round 1 Uppsala lost to Nassjo on the road 77-90. Umea won against Sodertalje on its own court 95-85.
The most impressive performance of 1st round was 46 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists by Gustav Hansson of Umea.

Boras – Fryshuset 110-63

An interesting game for Boras which hosted in Boras Fryshuset. Boras had an easy win 110-63. They made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Boras forced 26 Fryshuset turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Fryshuset’s players. American guard Anton Cook (189-1995, college: SE Oklahoma) stepped up and scored 26 points for the winners and his fellow American import forward Ryan Logan (200-1994, college: Stonehill) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side Montenegrin center Miki Novovic (208-1992) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and center Leonard Halling-Ibo (202-1992) scored 13 points and 9 rebounds. The former international point guard Charles Barton (193-1992, college: Oregon St.) stepped up and scored 24 points for the winners and guard Sheriff Drammeh (190-1996, college: Hawaii) chipped in 16 points and 6 assists. At the losing side the former international forward Viktor Gaddefors (201-1992) responded with 25 points and American guard Jordan Shepherd (193, college: California) scored 18 points. Umea used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Sodertalje 95-85. Umea made 30-of-34 charity shots (88.2 percent) during the game. Umea outrebounded Sodertalje 43-29 including 29 on the defensive glass. Sodertalje was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Four Sodertalje players scored in double figures. Umea will play against Koping Stars on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sodertalje will play against Kalmar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
