Spain rout Montenegro 82-65 in Tbilisi and improved to a 3-1 record in Group A. Spain nailed 27 points at the start to take control of the game. Moreover, they added a massive 26-14 surge in the second period and led Jaime Fernandez 53-31 as Jaime Fernandez sent the teams to the lockers.
Montenegro meanwhile looked better in the second half and managed to win both periods. They posted 17-15 and 17-14 rallies in the third and the last stanzas respectively. Dario Brizuela (188-G-1994) stepped up with 18 points and Willy Hernangomez (210-C-1994) notched 14. Lorenzo Brown (196-PG-1990, college: NC State) and Jaime Pradilla (204-PF-2001) scored 12 points each in a win. Vladimir Mihailovic (193-PG-1990) replied with 18 points in a loss and Marko Simonovic poured in 11.
