Greece claimed the third straight win at the 2022 EuroBasket. They dominated Great Britain without Giannis Antetokounmpo (211-F-1994, agency: Octagon Europe) to remain undefeated. Kostas Sloukas (190-PG-1990) finished with 21 points to lead the Hellenes.
Greece posted a 24-17 lead after the first period. Great Britain sank 26 points in the second frame to pull within 3 points at the interval 46-43. But Greece regained control after the big break. They unloaded 25 points in the third frame to take a 10-point lead. Greece did not loosen the grasp in the fourth quarter and rallied to the victory. Georgios Papagiannis (220-C-1997) notched 17 points for the winning side. Luke Nelson (191-PG-1995, college: UC Irvine) answered with 17 points, while Myles Hesson (198-F-1990, agency: Octagon Europe) had 13 points in the defeat.
