Czech Republic – Hungary 79:82

Hungary surprised Czech Republic at the Rocknet Arena at the 2023 World Cup European Qualifiers. They grabbed a valuable 82-79 win to tie their record at 4-4 in Group K.
Both teams nailed 23 points each in the first period, whilst the guests took a 3-point lead at the halftime due to a 24-21 rally in the second frame. Czech Republic replied with a 21-15 run in the third quarter, however could not win the game. Hungary needed a final 20-14 surge at the end to escape with a narrow win.
Adam Hanga (200-G/F-1989, agency: Octagon Europe) stepped up with 20 points, whilst Zoltan Perl (195-SF-1995, agency: BeoBasket) and Mikael Hopkins (206-F-1993, college: Georgetown) delivered 10 points each. Akos Keller (208-C-1989) and Benedek Varadi (194-G-1995) scored 8 points apiece in a win. Vojtech Hruban (202-SF-1989) replied with 26 points in the losing effort and Ondrej Balvin (217-C-1992, agency: Octagon Europe) had 15.
