DJ Kennedy

SC Prometey Kamianske (Superleague) strengthened their roster with addition of 32-year old American 198cm forward DJ Kennedy (college: St.John’s) for upcoming season. It is actually his comeback to Kamianske as he has played here before. Kennedy played this summer at Boeheim’s Army (The Basketball Tournament) in the U.S. He managed to play in five leagues in three countries last year (!!!). First he played at Galil Elion in Israeli Winner League where in 11 games he recorded 11.6ppg, 4.5rpg and 3.4apg. Kennedy also played 4 games in Balkan League where he averaged 11.5ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.8apg and 1.5spg. The other team he played that season for was Prometey in Ukrainian Superleague. In 20 games he had 13.0ppg, 6.6rpg, 2.8apg and 1.3spg. Good season as he was voted League Player of the Week. He also played 11 games in Basketball Champions League where he got 12.9ppg, 7.1rpg, 3.4apg and 1.1spg. Good season as he was also here selected League Player of the Week.
Kennedy has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015.
He is a very experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on four different continents (Europe, Asia, Australia and of course North America) in eleven different countries. Kennedy has played previously professionally in Australia (United), China (Long Lions), France (Gravelines Dunkerque), Germany (EnBW Ludwigsburg), Italy (Venezia), Russia (Enisey and Krasny Oktyabr), Turkey (Pinar Karsiyaka), NBA (Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets and Memphis Grizzlies), Israel (Hapoel Holon), NBA G League (Rio Grande Valley Vipers and College Park SkyHawks) and The Basketball Tournament (Overseas Elite). He won Balkan League championship title in 2022.
Among many awards he was voted to Australiabasket.com All-Australian NBL Honorable Mention back in 2019.
Kennedy graduated from St. John’s University in 2011 and it will be his twelfth (!!!) season in pro basketball.
