Surne Bilbao Basket (Liga Endesa) landed 25-year old Swedish international 204cm forward Denzel Andersson for new season. Andersson played most recently at Stal in Polish EBL league. In 32 games he averaged 8.2ppg, 3.6rpg and 1.0bpg last season. He helped them to win the cup and make to league final. Andersson also played 6 games in Basketball Champions League where he had 8.5ppg, 3.5rpg, 1.2spg and 1.2bpg.
He ended the previous (2020-21) season at BC Lulea in Swedish Basketligan. In 6 games he recorded 10.3ppg, 6.0rpg, 2.8apg, 1.8spg and 1.8bpg in that season. But the most of that year he spent at Openjobmetis Varese in Italian Serie A. In 10 games he got 3.0ppg and 2.5rpg in that season.
He has been also a member of Swedish international program for some years. He has regularly played for Swedish senior team since 2018 and previously for U20 National Team back in 2016.
Andersson represented Sweden at the European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) 2021 Pre-Qualifiers three years ago. His stats at that event were 2 games: 4.5ppg, 4.0rpg, 1.5bpg.
He has played also professionally in Sweden (RIG Lulea).
Among many awards he was voted Eurobasket.com All-Swedish Basketligan Defensive Player of the Year in 2020.
