Defending champion Zenit Sankt Petersburg (VTB) landed 28-year old former international 214cm center Artem Klimenko for new season. Klimenko has played for the last four years at Unics in the VTB. But in 8 Euroleague games he averaged just 0.6ppg last season. He also played 23 games in VTB United League where he had 4.8ppg and 2.5rpg. Klimenko helped them to make it to the semifinals.
He represented Russia at the World University Games in Gwangju (South Korea) seven years ago. Klimenko’s team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 6 games: 5.7ppg, 2.2rpg, FGP: 55.6%, FT: 70.0%.
Klimenko has played previously for Avtodor.
