Evgeny Voronov

MBA Moscow (Superleague 1) inked experienced 36-year old former international 194cm guard Evgeny Voronov for upcoming season. Voronov played most recently at Parma (VTB). He managed to play in three leagues last year (!!!). The team played in three different competitions that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 8 FIBA Europe Cup games he averaged 8.5ppg, 2.1rpg, 2.1apg and 1.0spg. Superleague 1 will be definitely a better match and he can see more playing time. Voronov also played 17 games in VTB United League where he recorded 10.6ppg, 2.8rpg, 2.8apg and 1.3spg. A very good season in his career as he was voted to VTB United League All-Star Game. And finally he recorded 3 games in Basketball Champions League where he got 10.0ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.3apg. The last season he played at BC Khimki Moscow Region. In 20 Euroleague games he got just 2.9ppg and 1.6rpg in 2020-2021 season. He also played 20 games in VTB United League where he got 4.7ppg and 1.9rpg. Voronov helped them to make it to the quarterfinals.
He was also a member of Russian international program for some years. Voronov played for Russian Senior National Team two years ago and previously for U20 National Team back in 2006.
He represented Russia at the Qualifications to European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) 2015 eight years ago. His stats at that event were 4 games: 5.8ppg, 4.0rpg, FGP: 35.0%, 3PT: 22.2%, FT: 50.0%.
Voronov has spent his entire career in Russia playing for eight other teams: CSKA Moscow, Dynamo Moscow, Krasnie Krilya, Lokomotiv Mineralnye Vody, Unics, Lokomotiv, Dynamo Sankt Petersburg and Lokomotiv Rostov U23.
He is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at MBA Moscow.
