Joel Awich

Caen Basket Calvados (NM1) strengthened their roster with addition of 29-year old American (has also Kenyan passport) 201cm forward Joel Awich (college: Cal Poly) for season 2022-2023. Awich is not a newcomer in French League as he played most recently at Andrezieux Boutheon Loire Sud Basket. In 36 NM1 games in France he recorded 10.1ppg and 5.1rpg last season. The last season he played at Dax-Gamarde where in 22 NM1 games he averaged impressive 15.5ppg, 8.2rpg (#5 in the league) and 1.3apg in 2020-2021 season. He has been regularly called to Kenyan Senior National Team since 2020.
Awich has played previously professionally in France (Montbrison and Souffelweyersheim) and PBA (Georgia K.).
He graduated from Cal Poly – San Luis Obispo University in 2016 and it will be his seventh season in pro basketball.
