Hapoel SP Tel-Aviv (Winner League) signed 33-year old American center Josh Owens (206cm-109kg-88, college: Stanford, agency: Network Sports International). Owens already started the season at Ionikos in Greek A1 league. In four games he had 6.0ppg, 5.3rpg, 1.5spg and 1.3bpg. He also played 3 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he recorded 5.0ppg, 6.0rpg, 1.3apg, 2.7spg and 1.0bpg. The last season he played at Metropolitans in French Betclic ELITE ProA. In 23 games he averaged 3.3ppg and 1.8rpg. He also played 4 games in Eurocup where he got just 2.0ppg and 1.8rpg. The other team he played that season for was Acibadem in Turkish BSL. In 15 games he got 7.1ppg, 5.7rpg and 1.4apg. Owens also played 7 games in Eurocup where he got 8.3ppg, 5.9rpg and 1.1spg. He helped them to make it to the quarterfinals.
Owens has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2014.
He is quite experienced player. Owens has played also professionally in Italy (Reggio Emilia, Venezia and Trento), Turkey (Tofas and Pinar Karsiyaka), Greece (AEK Athens) and Israel (Hapoel Jerusalem).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted to Italian Serie A All-Star Game between 2015 and 2016.
He attended Stanford University until 2012 and it is his tenth season as a professional player.
