The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 25 in the ProA U21 took place in Strasbourg. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 5th ranked Strasbourg (16-8) to eighth ranked Dijon (16-10) 101-98 on Saturday evening. Dijon forced 20 Strasbourg turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Lebanese center Karl Zamatta (202-2006) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 8 rebounds (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field). Guard Bastien Rieber (187-2005) contributed with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 16 assists for the winners. Dijon’s coach Elise Prodhomme used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Maxence Lemoine (187-2007) answered with 44 points (!!!) and 4 assists for Strasbourg. Dijon moved-up to seventh place. Strasbourg at the other side keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. Dijon are looking forward to face league’s second-placed Monaco at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Strasbourg will play against Le Mans and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Very important is a home loss of second ranked Cholet (17-8) against sixth ranked Nanterre (16-9) on Saturday night. Host Cholet was defeated by Nanterre in Cholet 100-83. Cholet will play against St-Quentin (#16) in Saint-Quentin and hopes to get back on the winning track.
ProA U21 top team – Bourg (23-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they beat eleventh ranked Paris (11-17) 89-72. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Paris. Wilson Jacques nailed a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side. Ilian Moungalla came up with 16 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for Paris in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bourg have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 23-2 record. Loser Paris keeps the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Bourg will meet ASVEL (#12) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Paris will play against Chalon/Saone and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Other games in round 25 were not that significant. Nancy was beaten by Chalon/Saone on the road 73-72. Monaco destroyed St-Quentin on its own court 100-75. Le Mans outscored Gravelines in a road game 88-64. Le Portel managed to beat ASVEL at home 82-70. Limoges was defeated by La Rochelle on the opponent’s court 79-71. Paris beat Dijon in a home game 88-87.
The most impressive performance of 25th round was 30 points and 5 rebounds by Mervyn Muamba of Dijon.


Cholet – Nanterre 83-100

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Cholet (17-8) against sixth ranked Nanterre (16-9) on Saturday night. Host Cholet was defeated by Nanterre in Cholet 100-83.
