The Regular Season in ProB is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 5 rounds. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game with biggest difference of round 33 was guest Aix-Maurienne‘s (19-14) easy road victory over 4th placed Roanne (20-13) 100-82 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Chorale de Roanne. They outrebounded Chorale de Roanne 42-30 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Aix-Maurienne looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Chorale de Roanne helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Carlos Pepin (201-2000, college: ESU) who scored 7 points and 20 rebounds. His fellow American import guard JaCori Payne (180-1996, college: Columbus St.) chipped in 25 points. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Harvey Gauthier (185-2001, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded 23 points and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aix-Maurienne moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Poitiers. Roanne at the other side keeps the fourth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Gries-Souffel. Aix-Maurienne is looking forward to face higher ranked Gries-Souffel (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Roanne will play against Hyeres-Toulon and is hoping to win this game.
Leader ADA Blois delivered the twenty fourth victory. This time they crushed 14th ranked SPO Rouen (15-17) 92-65. It was a good game for American point guard Siyani Chambers (183-1993, college: Harvard) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 7 assists. Timothe Vergiat contributed with 14 points for the winners. Arthur Bouba (202-2001) answered with 10 points and 5 rebounds for Rouen. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. ADA Blois have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain first place with 24-9 record. Rouen lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourteenth position with 17 games lost. Blois will play against Poitiers (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Rouen will play against Denain-Voltaire (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Pau-Lacq-Orthez will meet higher ranked Orleans (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Poitiers will play against the league’s leader Blois (#1) and hope to secure a win.

Saint-Chamond rolled over Chalons-Reims on the road 99-79. Fos-sur-Mer was defeated by Vichy on its own court 79-94. Hyeres-Toulon was smashed by Boulazac in a road game 93-64.


Pau-Lacq-Orthez – Poitiers 93-78

The game in Pau was also quite interesting. 6th ranked Poitiers (19-14) played at the court of seventh ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (19-13). Pau-Lacq-Orthez defeated Poitiers 93-78 on Friday. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Poitiers. Pau-Lacq-Orthez looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American-Ghanian forward Christopher Ledlum (198-2001, college: St.John’s) stepped up and scored 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and American-Ivorian power forward Amadou Sidibe (203-1994, college: Fairfield, agency: Players Group) chipped in 20 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). Orleans dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to ALM Evreux‘s 34. American guard Lee Moore (194-1995, college: UTEP, agency: 011 Sports) stepped up and scored 18 points, 7 assists and 5 steals for the winners and Dutch center Nathan Kuta (203-2000) chipped in 4 points and 10 rebounds. Entente Orleans 45’s coach Lamine Kebe used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Bahamas Aaron Levarity (203-1997, college: Milligan, agency: Slash Sports) with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Nigerian forward Gus Okafor (201-1999, college: Wichita St.) scored 16 points.
