Besancon Avenir Comtois Basket (NM1) landed experienced 36-year old American 198cm small forward Mykal Riley (college: Alabama) for new season. Riley is the second foreign player in the roster as Serbian Nikola Knezevic signed here earlier.
He has played for the last two years at Les Sables. In 34 NM1 games in France he averaged 13.4ppg, 4.6rpg, 2.7apg and 1.8spg last season.
He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in five different countries playing on three different continents. He is familiar with European, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Riley has played previously professionally also in Italy (Imola), Spain (Granada), Turkey (Bursaspor), Venezuela (Bucaneros) and France (JDA Dijon, Le Mans, Chalon/Saor and JSF Nanterre).
He is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Besancon.
He graduated from University of Alabama in 2008 and it will be his 15th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
He is described as:
A very athletic player who runs the court extremely well. Also, he’s a great shooter, even from behind the arch, and passes the ball well. (via @Be_BasketFr)
