The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Forward Vitaly Duchko (197-2006) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds for Minsk. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. CSKA-Junior keeps a position of league leader, which they share with MBA-2. Minsk lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh place with 24 games lost. They share the position with Lokomotiv-2. CSKA-Junior will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Minsk will play again at home against the league’s leader CSKA-Junior (#1) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
Important game to mention about took place in Khimki. Fifth ranked Zenit-2 (30-14) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 3rd placed Khimki-2 (32-12) 66-63 on Friday evening. It was a great evening for point guard Semen Burinskiy (183-2005) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 5 assists. Alexandr Porotnikov helped adding 13 points and 8 assists. Zenit-2’s coach Roman Knyazev used entire bench in such tough game. At the losing side Pavel Repnin (199-2006) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Zenit-2 have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to fourth place. Khimki-2 at the other side keeps the third position with 12 games lost. Zenit-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Khimki-2 will play again at home against Zenit-2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

It was a quality performance for Klim Adaykin who led the winners and scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Coach Alexander Afanasyev‘s team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Roman Pekshin came up with 11 points and 5 rebounds for Enisey-2 in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for MBA-2. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with CSKA-Junior. Enisey-2 lost their third game in a row. They stay dead last with 42 lost games. MBA-2 will again meet at home bottom-ranked Enisey-2 (#13) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Enisey-2 will have a break next round.

Other games in round 55 were not that significant. Samara-2 was smashed by Lokomotiv-2 on the road 91-67. Uralmash-2 destroyed UNICS-2 on its own court 89-52. N.Novgorod-2 unfortunately lost to Parma-2 in Perm 62-67.
The most impressive performance of 55th round was 15 points, 10 rebounds and 9 blocks by Maxim Ogarkov of MBA-2.


Lokomotiv-2 – Samara-2 91-67

No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Lokomotiv-2 (20-24) crushed 10th ranked Samara-2 (14-30) in Krasnodar 91-67 on Friday. Lokomotiv-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Samara-2‘s 36. Lokomotiv-2 forced 22 Samara-2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was an exceptional evening for center Pavel Ryabkov (202-2006) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Center Vladislav Antciferov (213-2006) accounted for 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Alexey Prokhorov (205-2006) came up with 14 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and point guard Georgiy Marufov (195-2006) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for Samara-2 in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Lokomotiv-2. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Minsk. Samara-2 lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the tenth position with 30 games lost. Lokomotiv-2 will again meet at home Samara-2 (#10) in the next round. Samara-2 will have a break next round.

There was a minor upset when 9th ranked UNICS-2 (15-31) was smashed by eleventh ranked Uralmash-2 (14-32) in Yekaterinburg 89-52 on Friday. Uralmash-2 forced 21 UNICS-2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by UNICS-2‘s players. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Matvey Reshetov (178-2005) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 assists. Artyom Fomin (189-2005) accounted for 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Five Uralmash-2 players scored in double figures. Alexandr Gerega (192-2005) came up with 11 points and point guard Magomednabi Khalilulaev (186-2006) added 9 points respectively for UNICS-2 in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Uralmash-2 maintains eleventh place with 14-32 record. UNICS-2 lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 31 games lost. Uralmash-2 will again meet at home higher ranked UNICS-2 (#9) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. UNICS-2 will have a break next round.
