The Regular Season in TBL is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 3 rounds. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Leader Trabzonspor delivered the twenty fourth win on Thursday night. This time they crushed 15th ranked Cedi Osman (11-19) 105-80 in Istanbul. Trabzonspor outrebounded Cedi Osman 41-24 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Trabzonspor looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Cedi Osman‘s players. American point guard Ty Gordon (185-1998, college: Nicholls) fired 26 points and 5 assists for the winners. Forward Nusret Yildirim (202-1989) chipped in 10 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. American point guard Jordan Barnes (178-1997, college: Indiana St.) produced 16 points and 6 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Trabzonspor maintains first place with 24-7 record. Cedi Osman at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifteenth position with 19 games lost. Trabzonspor are looking forward to face Balikesir BBS (#12) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Cedi Osman will play against Balikesir BBS and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
Bottom-ranked Anka Spor (0-31) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 95-62 loss to third ranked Sigortam.net (22-9) in Balikesir. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Darion Atkins (203-1992, college: Virginia) who helped to win the game recording 17 points. Yigit Coban contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Sigortam.net’s coach Ceyhun Cabadak felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Metehan Sever (-2007) answered with 15 points and 4 assists for Anka Spor. Sigortam.net maintains third place with 22-9 record having just two points less than leader Trabzonspor. Anka Spor at the other side still closes the standings. Sigortam.net will play against league’s second-placed Erokspor in Istanbul in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Anka Spor will play at home against TED Ankara (#13) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in Gaziantep was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Ankaragucu (20-10) played at the court of 7th ranked Gaziantep (17-14). Ankaragucu managed to secure a 9-point victory 93-84 on Wednesday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gaziantep. It was a great evening for Marlain Veal who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. At the losing side Marquis Wright responded with 32 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ankaragucu maintains fourth place with 20-10 record. Loser Gaziantep keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. They share it with Konya BBSK. Ankaragucu will meet at home Final Spor (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gaziantep will play against Konya BBSK (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Other games of round 31 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Bordo was defeated by Erokspor in Istanbul 84-74. Fenerbahce 2 was beaten by Cagdas BS at home 58-68. Cayirova lost to Final Spor on the opponent’s court 72-85. Haremspor managed to outperform TED Ankara in a home game 89-78. Kapakli Spor was rolled over Balikesir BBS on the road 108-79. Konya BBSK crushed Ormanspor on its own court 101-70.
Erokspor – Bordo 84-74
There was no surprise in Istanbul where 9th ranked Bordo (16-15) was defeated by second ranked Erokspor (23-8) 84-74 on Thursday. Erokspor looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Jordon Crawford (168-1990, college: BGSU, agency: Slash Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 assists. Tayfun Erulku (192-1994) helped adding 19 points and 5 assists. Four Erokspor players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard JJ Frazier (178-1995, college: Georgia, agency: MSG) responded with 22 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and the other American import center Eric Buckner (208-1990, college: Georgia St.) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Erokspor maintains second place with 23-8 record behind leader Trabzonspor. Newly promoted Bordo keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Haremspor. Erokspor will meet at home Sigortam.net (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Bordo will play against Cayirova (#6) in Kocaeli and hope to secure a win.

It was a great evening for American point guard Chris Warren (177-1988, college: Ole Miss) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points. Power forward Hadi Ozdemir (202-1983) helped adding 9 points and 6 assists. At the losing side guard Yigit Ozkan (191-2001) responded with 12 points and 6 rebounds and American center Amari Kelly (206-1999, college: GMU) scored 12 points. Four Fenerbahce 2 players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cagdas BS moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Cayirova. Strangely Cayirova outrebounded Final Spor 39-24 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for point guard Erdem Ilter (186-1990) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 5 assists. American guard Tyrece Radford (188-1999, college: Texas A&M) helped adding 8 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side American center Jamari Traylor (203-1992, college: Kansas) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import point guard Diante Watkins (175-1990, college: RMU, agency: BIG) scored 16 points and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Final Spor maintains fourteenth place with 13-17 record. Loser Cayirova keeps the fifth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Cagdas BS. Final Spor will meet higher ranked Ankaragucu (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. At the losing side Senegalese center Abdoulaye Gueye (206-1994, college: Georgia Tech) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 5 blocks and American guard Troy Franklin (183-1989, college: Coppin St.) scored 21 points and 8 assists. Five Haremspor and four TED Ankara players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Haremspor moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Bordo. Loser TED Ankara dropped to the thirteenth position with 17 games lost.
