Maccabi Rehovot (National League) landed experienced 35-year old American 180cm point guard Jay Threatt (college: Delaware State). Threatt supposed to play at BC CSU Sibiu in Romanian Liga Nationala, but left the team in Nov.’24. In 7 games he averaged 14.6ppg, 2.7rpg, 5.1apg and 1.0spg this season.
He is a very experienced player. Threatt has played also professionally in Finland (Nokia), France (Pau Lacq Orthez, Denain Voltaire and Poitiers), Germany (MLP Academics Heidelberg), Greece (Larissa BC), Hungary (Sopron KC), Iceland (Snaefell), Kosovo (Ylli), Lithuania (Pieno Zvaigzdes Pasvalys), Poland (Stal and Wilki Morskie), Portugal (FC Porto) and Romania (Galati and Rapid). He was also voted to Eurobasket.com All-Romanian League Honorable Mention in 2016 and 2024.
His team made it to the League Semifinals in 2023.
He is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at M.Rehovot.
He graduated from Delaware State in 2012 and it is his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season in pro basketball. He played also for George Mason University for one year.
