Another exciting game for Doxa Lefkadas (14-13) which hosted 4th placed Koroivos (16-11). Seventh ranked Doxa Lefkadas won 83-78. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Koroivos. It was a great evening for American swingman Rashad Madden (198-1992, college: Arkansas) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 9 rebounds. Joe Gatzo helped adding 7 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. The best for the losing side was American point guard RJ Glasper (186-1998, college: UIW) with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Koroivos’ coach Michalis Mihelakos tried various players’ combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn’t help. Doxa Lefkadas moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Proteas. Koroivos at the other side keeps the fourth position with 11 games lost. Doxa Lefkadas will play against Panerythraikos (#12) in New Eritrea in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Koroivos will play at home against the league’s second-placed Mykonou (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Elite League top team – Megaridas (23-4) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed sixteenth ranked Esperos (6-22) in Megara 104-70. It was a quality performance for Dimitris Geromichalos who led the winners and scored 21 points and 4 assists. Ryan Allen came up with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for Esperos in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Megaridas maintains first place with 23-4 record. Esperos lost eighth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 22 lost games. Megaridas will meet Ermis S. (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Esperos will play against Papagou (#13) and hope to secure a win.
There were no big surprises in other games of round 27: Ermis S. beat Eleftheroupoli on the road 83-65. Mykonou destroyed Ikaroi Trikala on its own court 96-61. HANTH was outscored by Papagou in Athens 82-61. Proteas managed to beat Panerythraikos at home 72-65. Near East was defeated by Vikos on the opponent’s court 85-78.

There was a small surprise when twelfth ranked Ermis S. (12-14) beat 9th ranked Eleftheroupoli (12-14) in Kavalas 83-65 on Wednesday. Ermis S. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Eleftheroupoli‘s players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Ermis S. made 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for Serbian-Belgian guard Vukan Samardzic (188-1999) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists. Center Stavros Toutziarakis (210-1987) accounted for 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Four Ermis S. players scored in double figures. American guard Holland Woods II (184-1999, college: GCU) came up with 22 points and 4 assists and swingman Nikolaos Kamaras (201-1997) added 9 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Eleftheroupoli in the defeat. Mykonou looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Ikaroi Trikala‘s players. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Christian Bradford (185-1995, college: Radford) who led the winners and scored 21 points. Power forward Manolis Mataliotakis (202-1994) accounted for 16 points (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winning side.
