The most exciting game of round 20 in the Winner League took place in Beer Sheva. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 7th ranked Hapoel Beer Sheva (9-11) to fifth ranked Bnei Hertzeliya (12-8) 98-97 on Tuesday evening. Bnei Hertzeliya made 33-of-41 free shots (80.5 percent) during the game. 27 personal fouls committed by H.Be’er Sheva helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Gabonese Chris Silva (206-1996, college: S.Carolina) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Elijah Stewart (196-1995, college: USC) chipped in 25 points and 4 assists. American forward Justin McKoy (203-2001, college: Hawaii) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the hosts. Hapoel Beer Sheva’s coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn’t help. Bnei Hertzeliya moved-up to fourth place, which they share with M.Ramat Gan. H.Be’er Sheva at the other side keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with I.Ness Ziona. Bnei Hertzeliya is looking forward to face league’s leader H.Tel-Aviv in Tel Aviv in the next round and it may be the game of the week. H.Be’er Sheva will play on the road against Kiryat Ata (#13) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Leader Hapoel Tel-Aviv delivered the eighteenth victory. This time they beat 10th ranked E.Netanya (7-13) 96-85 in Tel Aviv. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of E.Netanya. The former international Tomer Ginat (204-1994, agency: Avi Zilberman) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 7 rebounds. Antonio Blakeney contributed with 17 points for the winners. American forward Bryce Washington (203-1996, college: Louisiana) replied with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for E.Netanya. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hapoel Tel-Aviv (18-3) have an impressive five-game winning streak. H.Tel-Aviv maintains first position. Newly promoted E.Netanya dropped to the eleventh place with 13 games lost. H.Tel-Aviv will play against Bnei Hertzeliya (#5) in Hod Hasharon in the next round. E.Netanya will play at home against H.Gilboa Galil (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Nes Ziyona was also quite interesting. Second ranked Maccabi Tel-Aviv (17-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (9-11). Maccabi Tel-Aviv managed to secure a 5-point victory 103-98 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ironi Nes-Ziona. Worth to mention a great performance of Trevion Williams who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Maccabi Tel-Aviv’s coach Oded Kattash used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Itay Segev responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. Defending champion maintains second position with 17-3 record behind leader H.Tel-Aviv. Loser Ironi Nes-Ziona keeps the seventh place with 11 games lost. They share the position with H.Be’er Sheva. M.Tel-Aviv will meet at home H.Holon (#6) in the next round. I.Ness Ziona will play against H.Haifa and hope to secure a win.
Rest of the games of round 20 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
M.Ramat Gan defeated H.Afula in a road game 84-68. H.Galil Elion beat Kiryat Ata at home 97-82. Bottom-ranked H.Haifa was destroyed by H.Jerusalem on the opponent’s court 106-83. H.Holon unfortunately lost to H.Gilboa Galil in a home game 80-89.

H.Afula – M.Ramat Gan 68-84
There was no surprise when 12th ranked Afula (6-14) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Ramat Gan (12-8) 84-68 on Monday. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international point guard Roi Huber (188-1997) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 5 assists and American point guard Kendale McCullum (184-1996, college: Lewis) who added 10 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Four Ramat Gan players scored in double figures. American forward Justyn Mutts (201-1999, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import forward JP Tokoto (201-1993, college: UNC) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds. Afula’s coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. M.Ramat Gan maintains fourth position with 12-8 record, which they share with Bnei Hertzeliya. H.Afula lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Kiryat Ata. M.Ramat Gan will meet at home H.Galil Elion (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. H.Afula will play against H.Jerusalem and hope to secure a win.

The game was dominated by American players. Worth to mention a great performance of center Austin Wiley (211-1999, college: Auburn) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!) and point guard Jared Harper (178-1997, college: Auburn) who added 18 points and 9 assists during the contest.
