American Point guard Reggie Mesidor (183-PG) had an amazing evening in the last round for BC Iverioni Gori, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The player got a double-double of 26 points and 12 assists, while his team beat Batumi (#7, 7-7) 103-97. Iverioni maintains the 3rd position in Georgian Superleague. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Iverioni will need more victories to improve their 9-6 record. In the team’s last game Mesidor had a remarkable six three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He turned to be Iverioni‘s top player in his first season with the team. Former Southeastern University star has very solid stats this year. Mesidor is in league’s top in points (7th best: 18.0ppg).

The second best player in last round’s games was young international power forward Akaki Dvalishvili (207-PF-1991) of league’s leader Kutaisi 2010. Dvalishvili had a very good evening with a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds. Of course Kutaisi cruised to a 89-77 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Orbi (#11, 4-11). Of course Kutaisi still keep the league’s top spot. His team has currently 10-4 record. Dvalishvili is well-known at Kutaisi and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Tyson Jackson (204-C-2000, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) of Tkibuli Orbi (#11). Jackson scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite Jackson’s great performance the Orbi lost 77-89 to the higher-ranked Kutaisi (#1, 10-4). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Orbi can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 4-11 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Jackson has individually a great season in Georgia. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in rebounds with 9.6rpg (3rd best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
