Forward Andreas Kanonidis (200-F-1991) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked AO Mykonou, receiving a Hoops Agents Elite League Player of the Week award for round 25.
The 33-year old player was the main contributor (19 points, eight rebounds and six assists) to his team’s victory, helping them to outclass Esperos L. (#16, 6-20) with 72-point margin 126-54. Mykonou maintains the 2nd position in Greek Elite League. They are still close to the very top. Mykonou would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 20-4 record. In the team’s last game Kanonidis had a remarkable 100.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Mykonou‘s top player in his first season with the team. Andreas Kanonidis averages this season 12.8ppg.

The second best player in last round’s games was another Mykonou’s star – young Petros Melissaratos (205-C-1993). Melissaratos had a very good evening with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. Of course together with Kanonidis he helped AO Mykonou with another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Esperos L. (#16, 6-20) 126-54. Mykonou’s second position in the standings has not changed. His team lost just four games this season, while they won 20 matches. Melissaratos is a newcomer at Mykonou, but is already one of team’s top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Terrell Allen (190-G-1997) of Panerythraikos AS (#12). Allen showcased his all-around game by recording 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. Despite Allen’s great performance the Panerythraikos lost 84-85 to the lower-ranked Near East (#15, 7-18). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Panerythraikos ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 14 games, recording just eleven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Allen could help Panerythraikos to bring them higher in the standings. Allen has a great season in Greece. After 25 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in assists with 4.9apg (8th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
