The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Megaridas (21-4) in Megara on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by thirteenth ranked Papagou (11-14) 88-84. It ended at the same time the 17-game winning streak of Megaridas. Papagou had a 32-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Megaridas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Walter Williams (195-1997, college: Virginia St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and power forward Stefanos Spartalis (206-2006, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Craig Victor II (206-1995, college: LSU) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Papagou moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Panerythraikos and Vikos. Megaridas at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Papagou is looking forward to face Vikos (#11) in Ioannina in the next round. Megaridas will play on the road against HANTH (#14) in Thessaloniki and is hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Thessaloniki. Fifth ranked Koroivos (15-10) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 4th placed Iraklis (14-10) 76-73 in the game for the fourth place. American point guard RJ Glasper (186-1998, college: UIW) nailed 24 points for the winning side and Cole Bajema accounted for 14 points (made all of his eight free throws). Nikos Paparegkas (200-1994) came up with 26 points for Iraklis in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Koroivos moved-up to fourth place. Iraklis at the other side dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. Koroivos will play against Proteas (#6) in Voula in the next round. Iraklis will play on the road against Panerythraikos in New Eritrea and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Kesariani between Near East and Panerythraikos. Fifteenth ranked Near East (7-18) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Panerythraikos (11-14). Near East managed to escape with a 1-point win 85-84 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Dimos Dimitriou fired 14 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. Terrell Allen produced 21 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Near East moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with HANTH. Panerythraikos lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with 14 games lost. They share it with Papagou and Vikos. Near East will meet higher ranked Psychikou (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Panerythraikos will play against Iraklis (#5) and hope to secure a win.
There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 25: HANTH lost to Eleftheroupoli on the opponent’s court 67-81. Doxa Lefkadas managed to outperform Ermis S. in a home game 81-64. Bottom-ranked Esperos was rolled over Mykonou on the road 126-54. Vikos was defeated by Psychikou on its own court 77-80.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 21 points and 8 rebounds by Georgios Diamantakos of Psychikou.
Eleftheroupoli – HANTH 81-67
Rather expected game in Kavalas where 14th ranked HANTH (7-18) was defeated by twelfth ranked Eleftheroupoli (11-13) 81-67 on Saturday. Eleftheroupoli looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Swingman Nikolaos Kamaras (201-1997) fired 22 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Michalis Kamperidis (206-1994) chipped in 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American guard John Ittounas (190-2002, college: Elmhurst) produced 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Vassilis Papadopoulos (200-1999) added 11 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Eleftheroupoli moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Ermis S. and Ikaroi Trikala. HANTH lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Near East. Eleftheroupoli will meet bottom-ranked Esperos (#16) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. HANTH will play against the league’s leader Megaridas having rather not much hope for a victory.

Mykonou dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Esperos L.‘ 28. They outrebounded Esperos 48-19 including a 39-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Mykonou shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 62.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 43 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Esperos‘ players.
