The Regular Season in National League 1 is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 3 rounds. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Eighth-ranked Ionios (5-10) made lots of trouble for second ranked Sofadon (14-4) on Saturday. Sofadon managed to secure only three-point victory 82-79. However their fans expected much easier game. Sofadon have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with L.Xanthis. Newly promoted Ionios keeps the eighth place with ten games lost. Sofadon is looking forward to face Holargos (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Ionios will play against Nea Kifissia (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Patras: Aiolos Agyia (#7) and Apollon Patras (#6). Aiolos Agyia (8-10) won against visiting Apollon Patras (8-9) 66-59. Aiolos Agyia maintains seventh place with 8-10 record, which they share with Gefyra and Anagenisi. Apollon at the other side keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with OFI and Komotini GAS. Aiolos Agyia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Apollon will play against Neo Lixurio (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Holargos (10-5) against eleventh ranked Neo Lixurio (3-12) on Sunday night. Visiting Holargos was defeated by Neo Lixurio in a tough game on the road 73-80. Neo Lixurio maintains eleventh place with 3-12 record. Newly promoted Holargos keeps the third position with five games lost. Neo Lixurio will meet higher ranked Apollon (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Holargos will play against the league’s second-placed Sofadon having rather not much hope for a victory.

Ethnikos L. managed to beat Panellinios on the road 76-69. Nea Kifissia defeated Ilysiakos on its own court 80-69. Komotini GAS smashed KAOD in Komotinis 93-69. KAOH destroyed DEKA at home 78-59. Gefyra was outscored by L.Xanthis on the opponent’s court 75-54. Filippos Veroias recorded a loss to Panserraikos in a home game 66-67. Niki Volou was crushed by Machites on the road 81-56.
Milonas – OFI 92-69
There was a minor upset in Athens where 6th ranked OFI (8-9) was crushed by ninth ranked Milonas (8-11) 92-69 on Saturday. Milonas moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Pagrati. Loser OFI keeps the sixth position with nine games lost. They share it with Apollon and Komotini GAS. Milonas will meet APAS (#10) in the next round. OFI will play against Dafni (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
