Point guard Emanuele Trapani (182-PG-1999) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Fabo Herons Montecatini, receiving a Hoops Agents Serie B Nazionale Player of the Week award for round 28.
The 25-year old player was the main contributor (25 points, two rebounds) to his team’s victory, helping them to beat Cassino (#18, 9-19) 89-78. Fabo Herons maintains the 7th position in their group in the Italian Serie B Nazionale. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Fabo Herons will need more victories to improve their 17-11 record. In the team’s last game Trapani had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Emanuele Trapani averages this season 10.4ppg.

The second best player in last round’s games was young Simone Aromando (200-F-1997) of Gemini Mestre. Aromando had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as Mestre lost that game 77-82 to the higher-ranked San Vendemiano (#3, 20-8). This loss caused Mestre to drop to 8th position in group A. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 15-13 record is not bad and everything may still change. Aromando is well-known at Mestre and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.0ppg (#4). He also registered 8.4 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was German guard Filmore Beck (190-SG-1991, agency: Bell Basketball) of BPC Virtus Cassino (#18). Beck got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds . Despite Beck’s great performance the Cassino lost 78-89 to the higher-ranked Fabo Herons (#7, 17-11). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Cassino not to end season at such low position in group B, however are less than slim as they have already lost 19 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Beck could try to bring Cassino’s a little bit higher in the standings. Beck has a very solid season. In 26 games in Italy he scored 15.3ppg.

The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
