National League newcomer Hapoel Kfar Saba/Shalom tabbed 29-year old American 203cm forward Jalen Canty (college: UCSB, agency: Haylett Sports). Canty started the season at E.Ashkelon. In 17 National League games in Israel he averaged 14.5ppg, 7.2rpg, 1.2apg, 1.4spg and 1.5bpg.
He is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball he experienced life in six different countries playing on four different continents. Canty is familiar with European, Latin American, Australian and of course North American leagues. He has played previously professionally also in Australia (Spartans), Austria (Gunners Oberwart), Finland (Bisons), Germany (Kirchheim Knights), Mexico (Halcones de Ciudad Obregon) and Israel (Maccabi Raanana and Maccabi Ma’ale Adumim).
Among many awards he won Finnish 1st Division A championship title in 2021. Canty was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Israeli National League Honorable Mention back in 2022.
He graduated from University of California Santa Barbara in 2018 and it is his seventh season in pro basketball. Canty played for other colleges like: City College of San Francisco, Casper College.
