We should mention about the upset which took place in Chelyabinsk, where higher ranked Chelbasket (11-11) lost at home to fifteenth ranked Dinamo (7-15) 90-97 on Thursday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Chelbasket. It was a great evening for Valeriy Likhodey who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Dmitriy Nezvankin responded with 20 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Dinamo have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Tambov and BARS-RGEU. Loser Chelbasket keeps the seventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Irkut and Barnaul. Dinamo will meet at home league’s second-placed CSKA-2 in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Chelbasket will play against Khimki (#3) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
