The most exciting game of round 18 in the LEB Gold took place in Palencia. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 3rd ranked Fuenlabrada (15-3) to fifth ranked Zunder Palencia (13-5) 89-88 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Fuenlabrada. 29 personal fouls committed by Fuenlabrada helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American center Cameron Krutwig (206-1998, college: Loyola, IL) had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Polish-Argentinian Juan Pablo Vaulet (199-1996) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the other side the best for losing team was Eric Stutz who recorded 25 points and 5 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Burgos SP have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-1 record. Loser Castello dropped to the tenth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Burgos SP will meet at home bottom-ranked Moron (#18) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Castello will play against Menorca (#12) in Mahon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
