The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Aigaleo (12-4) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by eleventh ranked Milonas (6-10) 88-82. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Aigaleo. Milonas moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Pagrati. Aigaleo at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. They share it with L.Xanthis. Milonas is looking forward to face higher ranked P.Faliro (#9) in Piraeus in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Aigaleo will play on the road against Dafni (#4) in Athens and is hoping to win this game.
Important game to mention about took place in Athens. Tenth ranked Pagrati (6-10) saved a 3-point victory at home edging much higher ranked Amyntas (11-5) 79-76 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Amyntas. Pagrati maintains tenth position with 6-10 record, which they share with Milonas. Amyntas at the other side keeps the second place with five games lost. They share the position with Esperos and Machites. Pagrati will play against higher ranked Anagenisi (#7) in Karditsas in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Amyntas will play against Argyroupolis (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Karditsas between Esperos and Anagenisi. Third ranked Esperos (11-5) got a very close victory on the road over 7th ranked Anagenisi (7-9). Esperos managed to escape with a 1-point win 75-74 on Saturday evening. Esperos moved-up to second place, which they share with Amyntas and Machites. Loser Anagenisi K. keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Esperos will meet at home OFI (#6) in the next round. Anagenisi will play against Pagrati and hope to secure a win.
Other games in round 16 were not that significant. Dafni beat Argyroupolis on the road 88-77. P.Faliro lost to APAS on its own court 60-62. OFI unfortunately lost to Panelefsiniakos in Eleusina 61-79. Ilysiakos managed to beat Aiolos Agyia at home 71-62. Ethnikos L. was crushed by Holargos on the opponent’s court 100-73. Sofadon beat Panellinios in a home game 79-75. Neo Lixurio lost to Nea Kifissia on the road 64-70. Aretsou unfortunately lost to KAOD on its own court 51-64. KAOH recorded a loss to Niki Volou in NIki Volou 78-81. Panserraikos defeated Gefyra at home 73-61. L.Xanthis was beaten by Machites on the opponent’s court 57-42.
Argyroupolis – Dafni 77-88
The game between closely ranked teams ended with fourth ranked Dafni‘s (10-6) road victory over 5th ranked Argyroupolis (8-6) 88-77 on Saturday. Dafni maintains fourth position with 10-6 record, which they share with Panserraikos. Newly promoted Argyroupolis keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Dafni will meet at home league’s leader Aigaleo in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Argyroupolis will play against the league’s second-placed Amyntas (#2) in Athens and hope to secure a win.
