GC Zurich – Vevey Riviera 56-77
Vevey Riviera claimed NLB title. They edged GC Zurich on the road to sweep the Finals. Vevey Riviera dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to GC Zurich’s 22. Vevey Riviera forced 20 GC Zurich turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by GC Zurich helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international Jonathan Dubas (204-1991) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds. American point guard Malik Johnson (178-1997, college: Canisius) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 assists and 4 steals. Four Vevey Riviera players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Mario Gull (195-1998) who recorded 9 points and 4 assists and forward Ismael Seck (193-2000) added 11 points respectively. GC Zurich’s coach Luka Stiplosek gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win.
