Isaiah Pineiro

29-year old Puerto Rican Isaiah Pineiro (201-SF-1995) had an amazing evening in the last round for Mersin Buyuksehir Belediyesi Spor Mersin and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
He had a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out Merkezefendi (#16, 2-14) 111-108. Mersin BBGSK maintains the 7th position in Turkish league. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost a few games earlier this season. Mersin BBGSK will need more victories to improve their 9-7 record. In the team’s last game Pineiro had a remarkable 85.7% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Isaiah Pineiro averages this season 11.3ppg and 5.4rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Derek Willis (206-PF-1995) of Anadolu Efes Istanbul. He is American forward in his second season at Anadolu Efes. In the last game Willis recorded an impressive 22 points and 7 rebounds. Of course he led Efes to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Yalovaspor (#14, 4-12) 110-83. Anadolu Efes’ 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team’s 12-4 record is not bad at all. Willis is well-known at Anadolu Efes and he already established his position as one of the team’s leaders.

Third place about best performers goes to another Anadolu Efes’ star – center Daniel Oturu (208-C-1999). Oturu scored 19 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. He was another key player of Anadolu Efes Istanbul, helping his team with a 110-83 easy win against the lower-ranked Yalovaspor (#14, 4-12). Efes needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 12 victories and 4 lost games. Oturu has a very solid season. In 13 games in Turkey he scored 14.9ppg. He also has 6.0rpg and a FGP of 70.7%.
