Julian Hamati

Guard Julian Hamati (G-1992) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Beselidhja Lezhe, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The 32-year old player had a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out Teuta (#4, 0-3), the league’s bottom-ranked team 85-84. The game was between two of the league’s top four teams. It allowed Beselidhja to consolidate first place in the Liga Unike. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Beselidhja already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. In the team’s last game Hamati had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Julian Hamati has solid league stats. He is in league’s top in rebounds (9th best: 8.3rpg) and averages impressive 54.5% FGP.

The second best player in last round’s games was another Beselidhja’s star – young American Philbert Weekes (208-F/C-1999). Weekes had a very good evening with a double-double of 17 points and 17 rebounds. It was enough for Beselidhja Lezhe to edge Teuta (0-3) 85-84. A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 3 games without any defeat. Weekes is well-known at Beselidhja and together with Julian Hamati are proven team’s leaders. Former Nelson University star Weekes is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Bryan Powell (198-F-2000) of KB Teuta Durres (#4). Powell scored 27 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite Powell’s great performance the Teuta lost 84-85 to #1 ranked Beselidhja. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Teuta can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 3 games. Powell has individually a great season in Liga Unike. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league’s leaders in points with 21.7ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 9.3rpg (8th best).

The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
