Top ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (12-2) recorded its second loss in Tel Aviv on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (11-3) 92-77. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Hapoel Tel-Aviv. It was a great shooting night for H.Jerusalem especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was the former international Khadeen Carrington (193-1995, college: Seton Hall) who scored 26 points. American point guard Jared Harper (178-1997, college: Auburn) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists. The former international Tomer Ginat (204-1994, agency: Avi Zilberman) produced 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the hosts. Hapoel Tel-Aviv’s coach rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. H.Jerusalem maintains third position with 11-3 record behind leader M.Tel-Aviv. H.Tel-Aviv at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. They share the position with M.Tel-Aviv. H.Jerusalem are looking forward to face H.Holon (#6) on the road in the next round. H.Tel-Aviv will play against Kiryat Ata (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
The game in Ramat Gan was also worth to mention about. One of their biggest challengers Bnei Hertzeliya (9-5) played at the court of sixth ranked Ramat Gan (9-5). Ramat Gan defeated Bnei Hertzeliya 89-75. American point guard Kendale McCullum (184-1996, college: Lewis) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 7 assists. Roi Huber contributed with 18 points for the winners. Ramat Gan’s coach Shmuel Brenner allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Gabonese Chris Silva (206-1996, college: S.Carolina) replied with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) for Bnei Hertzeliya. Ramat Gan have a solid four-game winning streak. M.Ramat Gan moved-up to fourth place, which they share with H.Holon and Bnei Hertzeliya. M.Ramat Gan will play against I.Ness Ziona (#7) in Nes Ziyona in the next round. Bnei Hertzeliya will play at home against E.Netanya and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Ninth-ranked Galil Elion (5-9) made lots of trouble for sixth ranked Hapoel Holon (9-5) on Friday. Hapoel Holon managed to secure only three-point victory 80-77. However their fans expected easier game. Jalen Adams scored 19 points and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners. Lucas Goldenberg responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Hapoel Holon have a solid three-game winning streak. H.Holon moved-up to fourth place, which they share with M.Ramat Gan and Bnei Hertzeliya. H.Galil Elion lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with nine games lost. They share it with H.Gilboa Galil and H.Afula. H.Holon will meet at home higher ranked H.Jerusalem (#3) in the next round and it may be the game of the week. H.Galil Elion will play against H.Afula (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Rest of the games of round 14 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
I.Ness Ziona was defeated by H.Gilboa Galil in Gan Ner 88-83. E.Netanya was beaten by H.Be’er Sheva at home 80-96. Kiryat Ata won against H.Afula on the opponent’s court 88-76. Bottom-ranked H.Haifa lost to defending champion M.Tel-Aviv in a home game 67-106.

There was an upset in Gan Ner where higher ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (6-8) was defeated by eleventh ranked H.Gilboa Galil (5-9) 88-83 on Monday. H.Gilboa Galil made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. H.Gilboa Galil had a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. Forward Elijah Childs (201-1999, college: Bradley) scored 24 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Ishmael El-Amin (189-1998, college: URI) chipped in 21 points during the contest. No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Hapoel Beer Sheva (6-8) defeated on the road 12th ranked E.Netanya (3-11) 96-80 on Sunday. H.Be’er Sheva looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Panamanian guard Iverson Molinar (193-1999, college: MSU) scored 24 points and 8 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Ray Spalding (208-1997, college: Louisville) chipped in 17 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. American guard Carlos Marshall Jr (198-1999, college: Santa Clara) responded with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import swingman Kyler Edwards (193-1999, college: Houston) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Five H.Be’er Sheva and four E.Netanya players scored in double figures. E.Netanya’s coach tested eleven players seeing no chance for a win. H.Be’er Sheva moved-up to seventh place, which they share with I.Ness Ziona. E.Netanya lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. H.Be’er Sheva will meet at home league’s leader M.Tel-Aviv in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. E.Netanya will play against Bnei Hertzeliya (#5) in Hod Hasharon and hope to secure a win.
