We should mention about the upset which took place in Chelyabinsk, where higher ranked Chelbasket (8-8) lost at home to fifteenth ranked Metallurg MGN (6-10) 71-76 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Chelbasket. Tyus Jefferson stepped up and scored 19 points and 4 assists for the winners. Dmitriy Nezvankin responded with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Metallurg MGN moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Chelbasket at the other side dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Metallurg MGN will meet Irkut (#13) in the next round. Chelbasket will play against Dinamo (#5) in Vladivostok and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Dinamo dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Irkut‘s 26. Dinamo looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Serbian swingman Mihajlo Bogdanovic (198-1996) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and forward Vyacheslav Grachev (202-1997) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Andrei Savrasov (201-2000, college: Duquesne, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Maxim Procshenko (208-1997) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds.
