Leader Erokspor delivered the fifteenth win on Friday night. This time they beat 6th ranked Cayirova (11-8) 91-81 in Istanbul. Erokspor looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Cayirova helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American center Jeremy Simmons (204-1989, college: Charleston) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Yigit Sarikaya (202-1999) chipped in 17 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. American point guard Diante Watkins (175-1990, college: RMU, agency: BIG) produced 19 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Erokspor (15-4) have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place. Cayirova at the other side dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with TED Ankara. Erokspor are looking forward to face Ormanspor (#13) in Ankara in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Cayirova will play at home against Haremspor (#10) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
Bottom-ranked Anka Spor (0-19) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 88-65 loss to fifteenth ranked Ormanspor (8-11) in Ankara. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Meric Kuntker (193-2003, college: WOSC) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds. William McNair Jr contributed with 14 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Guard Yaman Alisan (193-2006) answered with 18 points and 6 rebounds for Anka Spor. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ormanspor moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Cedi Osman. Anka Spor lost their nineteenth game in a row. They still close the standings. Ormanspor will play against league’s leader Erokspor in Istanbul in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Anka Spor will play at home against Gaziantep (#15) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
A very close game took place in Konya (derby !!!) between Bodrum and Konya BBSK. Tenth ranked Bodrum (10-9) got a very close victory on the road over 7th ranked Konya BBSK (10-9). Bodrum managed to escape with a 1-point win 96-95 in the fight for the seventh place. It was a great evening for Chris Warren who led his team to a victory scoring 37 points (!!!) and 5 assists (made all of his fourteen free throws !!!). Bodrum’s coach Erhan Ernak used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side New Williams responded with 40 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Cagdas BS moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Konya BBSK and Bordo. Cagdas BS will meet Final Spor (#11) in the next round. Konya BBSK will play against Kapakli Spor (#17) and hope to secure a win.

Other games of round 19 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Bordo defeated Balikesir BBS in Balikesir 93-85. Sigortam.net beat Cedi Osman at home 90-75. Fenerbahce 2 lost to Final Spor on the opponent’s court 52-64. Gaziantep managed to outperform TED Ankara in a home game 87-84. Ankaragucu rolled over Kapakli Spor on the road 100-60. Haremspor was crushed by Trabzonspor on its own court 67-91.
The best stats of 19th round was 16 points and 9 rebounds by Mitch Creek of Trabzonspor.


Balikesir BBS – Bordo 85-93

There was no surprise when 15th ranked Balikesir BBS (7-12) was defeated at home by ninth ranked Bordo (10-9) 93-85 on Monday. Bordo looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard JJ Frazier (178-1995, college: Georgia) who led his team to a victory scoring 39 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 9 assists. His fellow American import center Eric Buckner (208-1990, college: Georgia St.) helped adding 15 points and 13 rebounds. Bordo’s coach Vasfi Basaran used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American guard Alonzo Verge Jr (190-1998, college: Nebraska, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Bartu Encu (188-2005) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Bordo. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Konya BBSK and Cagdas BS. Loser Balikesir BBS keeps the fifteenth position with 12 games lost. They share it with Gaziantep. Bordo will meet at home Fenerbahce 2 (#12) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Balikesir BBS’s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Balikesir to the arena Sigortam.net.

Konya BBSK – Cagdas BS 95-96

A very close game took place in Konya (derby !!!) between Bodrum and Konya BBSK. Tenth ranked Bodrum (10-9) got a very close victory on the road over 7th ranked Konya BBSK (10-9). Bodrum managed to escape with a 1-point win 96-95 in the fight for the seventh place. Cagdas BS made 27-of-35 free shots (77.1 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American point guard Chris Warren (177-1988, college: Ole Miss) who led his team to a victory scoring 37 points (!!!) and 5 assists (made all of his fourteen free throws !!!). His fellow American import Langston Wilson (206-2000, college: Milwaukee) helped adding 17 points and 10 rebounds. Wilson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Bodrum players scored in double figures. Bodrum’s coach Erhan Ernak used a ten-player rotation in such tough game.
