Swingman Filip Barna (201-1999) answered with 21 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for FMP BG. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Crvena zvezda (13-2) have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. Defending Serbian champion maintains first place, which they share with Partizan and Buducnost. FMP BG lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. Crvena zvezda will play against Dubai (#4) at home in the next round. FMP BG will play against Cedevita Ol. (#8) in Ljubljana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Igokea – Mornar 101-97
There was no surprise in Aleksandrovac where 16th ranked Montenegrin Mornar (1-15) was defeated by sixth ranked Bosnian Igokea (10-6) 101-97 on Friday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Igokea made 29-of-32 free shots (90.6 percent) during the game, while Mornar only scored eleven points from the stripe. Igokea looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American center Terrell Carter II (208-1996, college: Fresno St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Bryce Jones (183-1994, college: Murray St.) helped adding 20 points and 5 rebounds. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was Croatian swingman Lovre Runjic (197-2000) with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals and American guard Chico Carter Jr (190-2000, college: DePaul) scored 20 points and 7 assists. Four Mornar players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending Bosnian champion moved-up to fifth place. Mornar lost their ninth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Igokea will meet at home Split (#11) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Mornar will play against the league’s second-placed Buducnost (#2) in Podgorica and hope to win that game.

Buducnost looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for Serbian power forward Nikola Tanaskovic (204-1997) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 9 rebounds. Nigerian-American Rasheed Sulaimon (194-1994, college: Maryland) helped adding 25 points. Buducnost’s coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Italian Awudu Abass (198-1993) with 19 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian guard Danilo Andjusic (195-1991) scored 16 points. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Buducnost. Defending Montenegrin champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Partizan and Crvena zvezda. Loser Dubai keeps the fourth place with four games lost. Buducnost will meet at home bottom-ranked Mornar (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Dubai will play against the league’s leader Crvena zvezda (#1) in Beograd and hope to secure a win.

This time Borac used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Podgorica 78-76 on Saturday night. Borac made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Derby turnovers. It was a great evening for Lithuanian forward Justas Furmanavicius (199-1994, college: Ole Miss) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 5 rebounds. American point guard Diante Baldwin (182-1994, college: UNCG) helped adding 14 points and 5 rebounds.
