KLS is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 15 rounds left. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Vojvodina (12-3) in Novi Sad on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by thirteenth ranked Cacak 94 (6-9) 81-74. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Vojvodina NS. Cacak 94 made 23-of-23 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They outrebounded Vojvodina 36-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. Cacak 94 looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Vojvodina helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for guard Nikola Kocovic (197-1996, agency: Tolakh Tsimur) who led his team to a victory with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Petar Grojic (195-2001) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Cacak 94’s coach Zeljko Bugarcic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Scoochie Smith (191-1994, college: Dayton) answered with 12 points and 9 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for Vojvodina. Cacak 94 moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Sloga. Vojvodina at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Vrsac. Cacak 94 is looking forward to face league’s second-placed Vrsac on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vojvodina will play against Mladost and is hoping to win this game.
The game between second ranked Vrsac (12-3) and 16th ranked Novi Pazar (1-14) in Vrsac ended with biggest points difference. Vrsac outscored guests from Novi Pazar 105-76. Worth to mention a quality performance of Slobodan Jovanovic (193-1997) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Dusan Makitan helped adding 14 points and 12 rebounds. Vrsac’s coach Lazar Spasic felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was guard Altin Islamovic (200-2000) with 30 points and 8 rebounds. Vrsac have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Vojvodina. Novi Pazar lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Vrsac will play against Cacak 94 (#12) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Novi Pazar will play against Radnicki KG (#6) in Kragujevac to get more than just one victory in their record.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 15: Mladost was beaten by BKK Radnicki on the road 89-74. Metalac VL lost to OKK Beograd on its own court 89-97. Joker unfortunately lost to Radnicki KG in Kragujevac 93-97. Sloboda rolled over Tamis PN at home 103-81. Dynamic VP defeated Sloga on the opponent’s court 90-81. Zlatibor beat Mladost in a home game 94-89.
The most impressive performance of 15th round was 23 points and 5 rebounds by Dziugas Slavinskas of Mladost ZE.


BKK Radnicki – Mladost SP 89-74

No shocking result in a game when eleventh ranked BKK Radnicki (7-8) beat 15th ranked Mladost (4-11) in Beograd 89-74. BKK Radnicki forced 21 Mladost turnovers. Mladost was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for the former international guard Stefan Peno (194-1997) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 7 assists. Swingman Marko Tofoski (194-2006) helped adding 21 points and 6 rebounds. Four BKK Radnicki players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Dragoslav Papic (205-1987) with 20 points and point guard Petar Sparovic (175-1989) scored 12 points and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. BKK Radnicki moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Joker. Mladost lost fifth consecutive game. Mladost at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Metalac VL. BKK Radnicki’s supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beograd Dynamic VP.

Very expected game when 14th ranked Metalac VL (4-11) lost to eighth ranked OKK Beograd (8-7) in Valjevo 89-97. OKK Beograd players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Metalac VL was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for center Lazar Gacic (211-2005) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Asim Djulovic (204-2005) helped adding 16 points. Four OKK Beograd players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Elias King (203-2000, college: MTSU) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds and guard Luka Mitrovic (191-1996) scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory OKK Beograd went down to ninth position due to points difference. Metalac VL at the other side keeps the fourteenth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Mladost. OKK Beograd will play against Sloga (#11) in Kraljevo in the next round. Metalac VL will play at home against Tamis PN and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Radnicki KG (9-6) won against 8th ranked Joker (7-8) in Kragujevac 97-93. It was a great evening for Djuro Dautovic (200-2001) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds. American guard DeMarcus Sharp (190-1998, college: Austin Peay) helped adding 21 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. The best for the losing side was center Veljko Brkic (206-1995) with 26 points and 6 rebounds and guard Branislav Vujadinovic (196-1997, college: Assumption, agency: Helping Ballers) scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Radnicki KG and four Joker players scored in double figures. Radnicki KG moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Mladost and Sloboda. Joker lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with BKK Radnicki. Radnicki KG will play against bottom-ranked Novi Pazar (#16) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Joker will play against Mladost (#5) in Zemun and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Tamis PN (5-10) was outscored by seventh ranked Sloboda (9-6) in Uzice 103-81. Sloboda made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a great evening for Djordje Bozic (198-2001) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Center Aleksa Ilic (207-2000) helped adding 21 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American guard Jeremiah Davenport (201-1999, college: Arkansas) with 23 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Mihailo Jovicic (190-1999) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 assists. Sloboda will play against higher ranked Zlatibor (#3) in Cajetina in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tamis PN will play on the road against Metalac VL (#14) in Valjevo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
