Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul (BSL) agreed terms with 27-year old Turk international swingman Furkan Korkmaz (201cm-95kg-1997). Korkmaz already started the season at AS Monaco Basket in French Betclic ELITE ProA, but was released by the team in Dec.’24. In four Betclic ELITE ProA games he had 4.3ppg and 1.8rpg. He also played 3 games in Euroleague where he recorded 4.7ppg, 2.3rpg and 1.0spg. The last season he played at the 76ers in NBA. In 35 games he averaged just 2.5ppg.
In 2016 he was drafted by Philadelphia 76ers (NBA) in first round (26th overall).
Korkmaz has been also a member of Turkish international program for some years. He has regularly played for Turkish senior team since 2015 and previously for U20 National Team back in 2017.
Korkmaz represented Turkey at the European Championship (FIBA EuroBasket) seven years ago. His stats at that event were 6 games: 10.5ppg, 2.0rpg, 1.5apg, 1.2spg, FGP: 66.7%, 3PT: 33.3%, FT: 84.2%.
He has played previously professionally in Turkey (Efes, Bakirkoy, Bandirma and Pi Koleji) and NBA G League (Delaware Blue Coats). His team won Turkish Cup in 2015 and 2017. Korkmaz was voted to Turkish League All-Star Game back in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
